- Therapy Dogs Comforts Mourners In Funeral Homes

Funeral homes all over the US are increasingly using dogs as a part of their service. The presence of dogs on wakes and funerals is being offered to mourners free of charge, and almost everyone accepts the offer. It has been noted that having a dog present on such an occasion changes the atmosphere and helps people cope with grief and loss.
We have all noticed how dogs seem to understand how we feel and what we need at any given moment. This is what the dogs in funeral homes have been doing – coming up to the ones who are sad and broken and making them feel better by just sitting there. A dog working in a funeral parlor does not have to be especially trained, but has to be extremely well-behaved.
Some funeral homes are using cats, but they are not as popular, given that dogs are the only animals that can love you more than they love themselves. Dogs have also helped children deal with loss, with one boy even starting to talk again after his 3-year-old sister died. They are definitely angels posing as four-legged, furry balls of love.
