There are so many flea and tick products on the shelves now! Shampoos, spot-on products, sprays, and collars… how do you choose? Here are 11 tips to help you select the best products for your dog.

1. Go to the vet first!

The safest, surest products are prescription only. Over the counter products work less well because they have been on the market longer and many fleas and ticks are now resistant to them. Many OTC products contain pesticides that can harm your dog’s (and your child’s) liver.
