Other people chose influential characters from the 90’s and named their dogs after them. There are many dogs out there who are called Tupac Shakur, Little Jerry Seinfeld, and Phoebe Bouffay.

According to Rover, pups also get named after foods, drinks and even other animals. So, we have names such as Guinness, Ginger, and Bear. Experts suggest that naming your puppy is no small feat and that some thought should definitely be put into it. Dogs learn their name much more quickly and efficiently if it doesn’t sound similar to a command such as “sit.” A puppy’s name should be short, rhythmic and something that you can say in a variety of different tones, depending on the behavior of the dog.

Professional trainers claim that dogs are extremely sensitive and intuitive, and can sense the emotions of the person as they speak, no matter which words are being used. In other words, how you say their name is much more important than the name itself, so make sure it’s something you can say in many different ways to signify your mood to them.
