- Dogs Set New Yoga World Record

January 17 marked an epic chapter in canine history, as a new world record for the biggest dog yoga class was made in Hong Kong, with over 270 pairs of puppies and yogis practicing for just over half an hour. Suzette Ackerman, a yoga teacher and an avid dog lover, led the event, instructing all the participants and their pets how to stretch and twist in a series of poses. She added that in the fast-paced city, “doga” is a fantastic way of bonding and relaxing with your pets.
The record-breaking attempt is yet to be confirmed by the Guinness World Records, but the organizers of the event are confident they’ve broken the record. The previous one for the largest doga class was set in San Diego on 25 January 2015 with 265 people and their pups involved.
Oh, and all proceeds from the Hong Kong event are going to the Hong Kong Guide Dog Association, so it’s even more awesome than you thought. If you have trouble picturing 270 dogs doing yoga, just take a look at the video below.
