- Dog Helps Woman With Asperger’s

Danielle Jacobs is a 24-year-old woman from Tempe, AZ. She has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a disorder considered to be on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum (meaning she has some of the behavioral issues, but not the language deficits usually seen in people with autism). During Jacobs’ meltdowns, her dog comes up to her, comforts her and prevents her from harming herself.
She adopted Samson from a shelter and gave him a forever home, training him to become a service dog. Danielle saved him, and he would now give his life to keep her safe.
