2. Measure for the Right Size Crate

When you want to use a crate, just be sure to purchase the right size. You don’t want to confine your tiny puppy in a cage that’s too small for him to lie down, turn around, and stand up, but you also don’t want to provide a mansion that’ll allow him to eliminate in one corner and still feel clean on the other end of the cage. The key is to find the right balance, and this can be tricky. But if you do this, you can rest assured your puppy won’t eliminate while you aren’t home because his instinct will tell him that doing so in his immediate environment is just gross.
