- 6 Best Ways to Train Your German Shepherd
Koljambus / Bigstock
Originally used in Germany’s mountainous pastures as a working dog, the German Shepherd is an agile, faithful, intelligent, protective breed that deserves to be impeccably trained.
1. Nipping
Puppy nipping must be “nipped” in the bud. It will not be cute when you have a full grown Shepherd that thinks it is okay to play bite with anyone who walks through the door. If you push a puppy away, he will think you are playing. If he nipped a littermate, she would likely whine in pain or nip back. You can whine and turn away. If he is chewing on you rather than nipping, replace your skin with a toy, and praise when he accepts it.
