2. Making their beds as comfy as possible
Everybody loves a nice, warm, and soft place to land on when it’s time to get some shut-eye, and dogs are no different than humans when it comes to making their beds. They are true comfort lovers, just like people, and they will often patiently arrange everything before crashing onto their pillow or quilt.
If anything, your dog will usually walk a few circles around their bed, which is a habit dating back thousands of years ago when dogs would stomp the grass before lying down. This allowed them to spread their scent around, indicating to other animals that they had chosen that specific place as their territory.
Additionally, especially now when they are domesticated, dogs simply feel a lot safer and happier knowing they have everything in their sleeping area set just the way they like it. Some will just spin once and lay down, others will spend a lot of time arranging their blankets to a perfect angle and collecting all of their favorite items to have nearby – just in case, you never know!
