2. Rottweiler

A Rottweiler may attack if a kid screams and runs away. The dog may instinctually run after the child as a result of a natural chase response that is part of the canine’s wiring.

The problem with this instinct is that it is very difficult to get the dog to stop once they have started.

With the right socialization, training, and supervision, the Rottweiler is a great dog and they are able to protect their family from dangerous intruders while easily understanding that new strangers could be friends.

They should be carefully supervised when with other children because they may get the wrong understanding that “their” children are being hurt during rough play.

It is this level of protection that makes this breed a bad choice for kids. Too many accidents can occur when an untrained Rottweiler believes they are doing their job in protecting their family. Owners of this dog would have to constantly be on the lookout for any confused guard dog behavior.
