6. Break Away from Recognizable Habits

Dogs are very quick to pick up on body language. Your dog will soon learn that when you grab your keys or put on your shoes, you’re leaving. Break the habit by performing these actions when you’re not leaving so your dog doesn’t always associate them with your departure.
