3. Established Boundaries

You might not want your dog in the nursery right away. However, if you let him for the months prior, and then all of a sudden put up a baby gate, he will resent your actions, especially if that plush rug you put in there has become his favorite place to sleep. You are better to put up barriers early, and then remove when you are ready.
