Have you ever watched a service dog in action? They save their owner’s lives then lie quietly at their feet in the busiest surroundings. What goes into training those dogs, and where do they come from? Here are 11 facts about service dogs.
1. Service dogs are not pets
Real service dogs are carefully trained animals that have been placed with disabled people in order to assist them, like live-in nurses. They are working dogs and are not considered as pets.
