3. Exercise First

If your dog has been in the house while you have been at work all day, then he will have a lot of energy that needs to be burned. Simply showing up with your significant other is not such a good idea, unless your Rottweiler has an extremely calm temperament. If jumping is already a concern, you can’t expect him to all of a sudden stay down and make a good impression, especially if he has been cooped up for a while. Plus, he has missed you all day, and now you are showing up with someone else, so he could assume your partner is the reason you haven’t been home. Give him some one-on-one quality time and burn some of that bottled up energy. Take him for a quick walk. This will ensure he will be a little calmer during the initial meeting.
