Some dog breeds tend to pick one human to bond tightly with, and never really establish a close connection with any others. They may even be overprotective of their human, and want absolutely nothing to do with a new person brought into the equation. This does not describe the Rottweiler! Sure, the breed forms a strong bond and is protective, but these dogs are typically more than happy to make room in their heart for another human, if it means more belly rubs or an extra treat throughout the day. Below is a guide to introducing your Rottweiler to your significant other.

1. Be a Leader

Hopefully, your Rottweiler already views you as the leader and responds to commands. This will make any human introduction more pleasant. If he knows you are the leader then he will look to you for commands and know he can just relax, because you are in control of the situation. If he has behavioral problems, such as jumping or play biting, some obedience training is in order.
