22 Hypoallergenic Dog Breeds
10. Kerry Blue Terrier
The Kerry Blue Terrier or the Irish Blue is a dog breed from Ireland originally bred to be an all-purpose working dog for hunting, herding and guarding the cattle. These dogs have a distinct blue hue to their coat, however they are not born with it – the puppies are all black and the bluish hairs start appearing around the age of two.
These dogs have hair that resembles human hair in texture. They don’t shed and consequently don’t cause allergies. This makes them great house dogs, however, you might want to reconsider getting an Irish Blue in case your place is small or if you have other, smaller pets around.
The Kerry Blue Terriers are very energetic, with keen hunting instincts. They can be stubborn or even pugnacious, with a bit of a temper. However, if trained properly and showered with love, they make great, loving pets.
