21 Most Heart-Warming Dog Stories
There is a very severe, but fortunately rare disease that affects dogs, called Swimmer Puppy Syndrome. It is a form of deformity where a puppy’s legs are unable to hold the weight of the rest of the body and splay to the sides. Puppies suffering from this syndrome can’t even get up, let alone stand, sit, walk or run. Because this means very poor quality of life for these dogs, they are usually euthanized as soon as Swimmer Puppy Syndrome is diagnosed.
A puppy named Mick was fortunate enough to end up with people who wouldn’t give up on him so easily. A foundation that helps animals born with deformities took Mick in and after extensive (and also expensive) therapy they managed to get him on his feet for the first time. With lots of love and patience, Mick learned to crawl and then to walk. Today, he’s a happy, active puppy who loves running around and playing with his buddies.
